How to mount NFS Share in Datastore of ESXi Host

Sometimes we need to mount NFS share in Datastore of our ESXi host. For this I have prepared a help guide which will be helpful. For this following step needs to be followed;

1)       First of write down the NFS path and NFS Server with yourself. In my case following info for NFS Server and NFS Path;
a.      NFS Server IP Address: 192.168.1.100
b.      NFS Path: /volume1/ESXi-VMs

Note: In NFS Path volume1 is by default created at NFS Server when we create a share while “ESXi-VMs” is the name of that share which we want to mount in Datastore of ESXi Host.

2)      Now you need to logon to your ESXi host from vClient or web browser. After logged on to the host, click on “Storage” on left pane, then click on “New DataStores” option on top of the storage showing as mentioned in figure-1 below;

3)      When you click on “New Datastores” you will see a new popup window showing below in figure-2. In this window you must choose option “Mount NFS Datastore” and click “Next” button.

4)      After clicking “Next” button in step 3, on new window figure-3 you must fill in the following information which we collected in step 1 and click “Next” button.

5)      In last step you will see the summary of info you provided now click on “Finish” button showing in figure-4 below;

6)      After clicking on “Finish” button your NFS Share has been created and showing under “Datastores” as in figure-5 below;
